Post menopause is an important stage in the lives of a woman and it comes after the menopause stage. It is known that menopause is a stage where a woman`s reproductive years come to a close. The reduction in the oestrogen levels after the menopausal stage would lead to weak bones. Various examples are milk, cheese, yoghurt etc. Calcium requirements in postmenopausal women could be met by consuming vegetables like kale, broccoli etc.

In bone health and in the absorption of calcium, vitamin D plays a huge role. It is superb for women to expose themselves under the sunlight. This would help them to get vitamin D from the sunlight. Various vitamin D foods are cereals, dairy products, orange juice plus fatty fishes like salmon, tuna etc.

Intake of omega 3 fatty acid foods:

The hormonal changes after menopause would make a woman prone to cardiovascular disease etc. So to avoid getting cardiovascular diseases etc, women must compulsorily consume omega 3 fatty acids based foods like flaxseeds, fatty fishes, walnuts etc. These foods would reduce inflammation, lower triglycerides and avoid cardiovascular diseases etc.

It is true that after menopause a woman might get issues in her digestive health. This is due to hormonal changes and it could affect bowel movements and lead to constipation etc. By eating fibre rich foods like whole grains, fruits, vegetables, nuts etc, a woman could avoid constipation etc as these would promote an optimal digestive function.

Intake of phytoestrogenic foods:

By mimicking the effects of oestrogens, intake of phyto-oestrogenic foods plays a huge role after the menopausal stage. It must be noted that phytoestrogens are the compounds present in  the foods that act as weak estrogens. Various examples of phytoestrogenic foods are soybeans, tofu, flaxseeds etc. When a postmenopausal woman eats these foods, then her issues like hot flashes, mood swings and night sweats etc would get reduced.
